The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is an all-purpose, versatile zoom lens that joins the new STM family of Canon lenses. The Canon 18-135mm uses STM (stepping-motor technology) to ensure quiet, smooth focus operation when capturing stills or shooting video. Thanks to the built-in 4-stop Dynamic Image Stabiliser (IS) the EF-S 18-135mm lens allows you to shoot sharp images handheld and shake-free movies. The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens is a great, all-around lens suitable for a wide range of subjects and provides the user with a beautiful background blur. In combination with the technology above, this lens also includes ultra-low dispersion (UD) lenses, aspherical lens elements and lens coatings to ensure ghosting and flare is kept to a minimum throughout the entire zoom range. This lens is not suitable for full-frame cameras.

Canon's STM lenses

Canon's new line of STM (stepping motor) lenses are specifically designed for shooting video with the camera's Movie Servo AF mode.
