The Nikon D810 builds upon its predecessors (the D800 and D800E) with a new 36.3 megapixel FX sensor and powerful EXPEED 4 image processor, to bring new levels of speed, enhanced video functionality and the highest image quality in Nikon's history. With that in mind, Nikon has chosen to remove the optical low-pass filter in the sensor to optimise sharpness and broaden its native sensitivity range to ISO 64-12,800 (expandable from 32 to 51,200) to allow even more control over stills and videos.
